Description
This project is a 3D environment recreation of Museongseowon, a historic Korean Confucian Academy. I focused on blending traditional architectural beauty with an efficient, modern workflow in Unreal Engine 5.6.
Technical Workflow
Modeling & Sculpting
Main structures were modeled in Maya and Blender.
For the stone walls and stairs, I used a high-to-low poly workflow: base modeling in Blender, detailed sculpting in ZBrush, and baking for optimization.
Texturing
Applied authentic Korean traditional patterns sourced from Culture Portal, with custom-designed patterns for missing elements.
Natural surfaces like wood grain and stone textures were authored in Substance 3D Painter.
PCG & amp; Environment Logic (UE 5.6)
Implemented a procedural workflow by linking PCG (Procedural Content Generation) with Landscape Layers.
The system is set up to automatically generate assets only on specific landscape material layers, ensuring a natural and efficient distribution of foliage and environmental props.
